Rock the Country’s South Carolina Show Called Off Following Multiple Artists’ Departure from the Tour

In a significant development for this summer’s festival circuit, Rock the Country’s South Carolina Show Called Off Following Multiple Artists’ Departure from the Tour has officially been removed from the event calendar. The July 25–26 stop in Anderson, South Carolina, was originally part of the festival’s eight-city run but is no longer listed on the tour’s official website.

The cancellation comes amid a wave of lineup changes this week, with several artists — including Shinedown, Ludacris, Morgan Wade and Carter Faith — stepping away from the festival. Organizers have not yet issued a formal statement explaining the Anderson date’s removal, and requests for comment remain unanswered.

Local Officials Notified as Event Is Pulled

According to local reporting from The Post and Courier in Greenville, Anderson County officials were informed on Feb. 5 that the event would no longer take place. No specific reason for the decision was provided, leaving fans and local organizers without clarity on what led to the sudden change.

Despite the setback, the remainder of the tour appears to be moving forward as planned.

Remaining Tour Dates Still Set for Summer

As of Feb. 7, seven stops remain on the Rock the Country schedule:

  • Bellville, Texas (May 1–2)

  • Bloomingdale, Georgia (May 29–30)

  • Sioux Falls, South Dakota (June 27–28)

  • Ashland, Kentucky (July 10–11)

  • Hastings, Michigan (Aug. 8–9)

  • Ocala, Florida (Aug. 28–29)

  • Hamburg, New York (Sept. 11–12)

The festival features a rotating lineup depending on the city, with major names such as Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Hank Williams Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Riley Green, Jon Pardi and Brantley Gilbert among the performers scheduled across various dates.

Artist Departures Spark Attention

One of the most notable exits came from Shinedown, which had been slated to perform at the South Carolina stop. The band announced its withdrawal on Feb. 6 after facing criticism from fans over its involvement in the festival.

In a statement shared on social media, the group emphasized its mission of unity through music.

“Shinedown is everyone’s band. We’ve been given a platform to bring people together through the power of music. Our purpose is to unite, not divide.”

The band acknowledged that the decision might not please everyone but said it chose to step away to avoid being part of something that could deepen divisions.

Political Undertones Add to the Conversation

Although Rock the Country organizers have not formally aligned the event with any political stance, some headlining artists — including Jason Aldean and Kid Rock — have publicly expressed support for former President Donald Trump. Additionally, Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert are set to appear at Turning Point USA’s upcoming alternative “All-American” halftime event, scheduled to air opposite the official Super Bowl Halftime Show.

With artist withdrawals, public debate and now a canceled city, the festival’s rollout has faced unexpected turbulence. For now, organizers appear focused on keeping the remaining tour dates on track as the summer season approaches.
