Billboard Wire Exclusive: Boss Fetti Opens Up About Growth, Authenticity, and His Afrobeats-Inspired Evolution on “Show Me Baby

For many artists, longevity isn’t defined by staying the same—it’s defined by knowing when to evolve. Phoenix-based recording artist Boss Fetti has reached that pivotal point with the release of his latest single, “Show Me Baby,” a vibrant blend of Afrobeats rhythms and hip-hop lyricism that showcases both artistic confidence and creative growth.

Originally from Ohio and now building his career in Phoenix, Boss Fetti has spent years developing a sound rooted in authenticity, lyrical substance, and personal experience. Rather than chasing trends, he’s focused on creating music that reflects his own journey while remaining connected to the foundations that first inspired him. His influences—hip-hop icons including Rakim, LL Cool J, N.W.A., and the Geto

Boys—helped shape an artist who values storytelling just as much as musical innovation.

With “Show Me Baby,” Boss Fetti introduces listeners to a fresh musical direction without abandoning the qualities that earned him a loyal audience. The record combines melodic vocals, infectious percussion, and Afrobeats-inspired production with his established hip-hop approach, creating a crossover sound designed to connect with diverse audiences.

In this Billboard Wire exclusive, Boss Fetti discusses artistic evolution, inspiration, consistency, and where his music is headed next.

Exclusive Interview

Billboard Wire: Congratulations on releasing “Show Me Baby.” What makes this release different from everything you’ve done before?

Boss Fetti: Every song represents a different chapter in my life, but this one feels special because it shows another side of me creatively. I  wanted people to hear that

I’m willing to grow without losing who I am.

Billboard Wire: Afrobeats has become one of the world’s fastest-growing genres. What inspired you to blend those influences with hip-hop?

Boss Fetti: I’ve always appreciated different styles of music. I  wanted to challenge myself creatively while still staying authentic to my foundation. It wasn’t about following a trend—it was about making something that felt genuine.

Billboard Wire: Your music has always emphasized lyricism. How important was it to maintain that while experimenting with a new sound?

Boss Fetti: That was probably the most important part. No matter what production I’m using, I  still want listeners to recognize me through my message and delivery.

Billboard Wire: Growing up in Ohio before relocating to Phoenix gave you two very different environments. How has that shaped your perspective as an artist?

Boss Fetti: Ohio gave me the hunger and discipline. Phoenix gave me room to expand creatively. Together they’ve helped shape both my mindset and my music.

Billboard Wire: You’ve mentioned artists like Rakim, LL Cool J, N.W.A., and the Geto Boys as major influences. What lessons have stayed with you throughout your career?

Boss Fetti: They taught me confidence, honesty, fearless storytelling, and the importance of saying something meaningful every time you step into the booth.

Billboard Wire: Many artists feel pressure to constantly follow trends. You’ve taken a different approach. Why?

Boss Fetti: I’ve always believed consistency lasts longer than chasing moments. If you’re authentic and continue improving, your audience grows with you.

Billboard Wire: “Show Me Baby” has a feel-good energy. Was creating that atmosphere intentional?

Boss Fetti: Absolutely. I  wanted people to enjoy themselves when they hear it. Music should make people feel something, and this record brings positive energy while still representing who I  am.

Billboard Wire: Looking back on your career so far, what accomplishment are you most proud of?

Boss Fetti: Staying committed. I’ve continued recording, writing, and improving year after year. Consistency has always been one of my biggest strengths.

Billboard Wire: What message do you hope fans take away from this chapter of your career?

Boss Fetti: Never be afraid to grow. Growth doesn’t mean leaving your roots behind—it means becoming a better version of yourself.

Billboard Wire: If someone is hearing Boss Fetti for the very first time through “Show Me Baby,” what do you hope they discover?

Boss Fetti: I  hope they hear an artist who’s willing to evolve while staying authentic. That’s always been my goal.

Billboard Wire: What’s next for Boss Fetti?

Boss Fetti: More music, more creativity, and continuing to push myself. I’m just getting started.

Final Word

With “Show Me Baby,” Boss Fetti proves that artistic evolution doesn’t require sacrificing authenticity. Instead, it demonstrates the confidence to explore new creative territory while honoring the influences and experiences that built his foundation. As he continues expanding his catalog and experimenting with fresh sounds, Boss Fetti is positioning himself as an artist unafraid to embrace change while remaining true to his identity.

If “Show Me Baby” is any indication, this is only the beginning of the next chapter.
