Meet KANDA: The British Asian Rising Star Taking Hindi Fusion Global

At just 22 years old, British Asian singer-songwriter KANDA is establishing himself as an exciting new voice in international music. Bringing together British rap, Punjabi influences, Hindi vocals and contemporary global production, the UK artist is creating a distinctive sound that is attracting listeners across the UK, India and beyond.

His latest single, “Majboori,” released on 26 June 2026, showcases that versatility. The track takes the thriving Afro House sound and gives it a Hindi twist, pairing bittersweet lyrics with uplifting, dance-driven production.

Catchy, energetic and instantly memorable, “Majboori” is built around an engaging contrast. While the beat is designed for summer playlists and dance floors, the lyrics bring an emotional depth that gives the track its identity.

Speaking about the single, KANDA says:

“With ‘Majboori’, I wanted to create something that people could dance to while still connecting with the emotion behind the lyrics. Combining Afro House with Hindi vocals allowed me to bring together different sides of my musical identity. My goal is to make music that crosses cultures and connects with people around the world.”

KANDA
KANDA’s ability to move naturally between genres has become one of his defining qualities. His music reflects a generation of listeners who move freely between British rap, Punjabi music, Bollywood melodies and international dance sounds.

Despite his young age, KANDA has already collaborated with several respected names from the Asian music industry, including Punjabi MC, Dr Zeus, Apache Indian, DJ Harpz, Ashok Gill, Manak-E and Karam Brar. These collaborations have helped him develop his sound while demonstrating his ability to work across different styles and generations.

His music has also received growing industry support. In the UK, KANDA has secured regular playlisting and recognition from BBC Asian Network, while in India his releases have been supported through Apple Music.

The remainder of 2026 is set to be an important period for the artist, with several new releases and live performances planned. KANDA is due to appear at events including Godiva in the City and the Leamington and Warwickshire Mela, where Punjabi music star Jazzy B will also perform.

His international schedule includes a headline appearance at Club Mumbai in Vancouver, Canada, on Thursday, 27 August 2026. He is also planning his first headline live show in London for mid-November, where he will perform songs from across his growing catalogue. With a distinctive cross-cultural sound, high-profile collaborations and an expanding international audience, KANDA is positioning himself as one of the most promising young British Asian artists to watch.

“Majboori” represents the next stage of that journey: emotional, infectious and confidently global. With further music and major performances ahead, KANDA looks set to continue making waves throughout 2026 and beyond.
